Started her dance training at the age of 4, under the instruction of Joan VanDyke in Punxsutawney, Pa. Margaret began Classical Ballet and Pointe training under Joan's instruction, she was a member of the dance company for 1994-1998. She performed in The Nutcracker, Little Humpback Horse, Cinderella, Dracula, Graduation Ball, and numerous showcases. Upon moving to Emporium in 1992, while continuing her training with Ms. VanDyke, she began instruction at the Debra Lanzillo Studio of Dance. Her training included Tap, Ballet, Lyrical and Jazz. She also was a student teacher and choreographed for dance classes, recitals, plays. Margaret also took part in the New York State Dance Competition, winning a Silver Medal as a soloist and a Bronze medal for group. In 2000 Margaret graduated from CameronCountyHigh school and continued her education at SlipperyRockUniversity. During her college career she was very active in the dance departments classes and performances. She performed in “Defined and Refined” and “New Terrain” as well as informal performances, site specifics and a contact improvisation Research Symposium in 2002.
In 2002, Margaret graduated from Dance Masters of America Teacher Training School and is certified by test to teach Ballet, Tap, and Jazz beginner through advanced levels. In February 2004 Margaret traveled to Ireland for a study abroad program where she studied Irish history and many traditional Irish step and set dancing along with her other communication studies. In May 2005 she graduated from SlipperyRockUniversity with a B.S. in Communications, Emerging Technologies & Multimedia.
